Want to know what's plausible? A reluctance to strike hard at the PRC in response to the types of attacks you describe.....
We are committed by treaty and obligation to the defense of Taiwan. However I wonder if when push comes to shove, whether we will dilly -dally and hesitate to go after facilties on the mainland.........

...and hence my use of conventional smart submunitions instead of a nuke (even for HEMP) so that the "gee that's awful, let's strike the mainland" threshold probably wouldn't be crossed back stateside (will be expanded upon in Part II...) Looking at this in the context of what is happening to the RN and presumptive of the budgetary effects of the (by then) 14 yr GWOT peaks/valleys BTW, email inbound sep. subject
