Ah, you didn't get the memo - the grandparents are supposed to do the potty training! I had my mom come for 2 months or so before JT was 2, and she had him dressing himself, sitting on the potty, and all those life lesson-type things that the moms have less time for (we need to get our couch-time in). When he started school, we started the potty routine there - he goes when we get there and before we leave. It helps that the kids have their extra-clothes boxes there with their names on them, so that we can bribe, ahem, encourage him to "read" the names while sitting on the potty. And pee-ing outside is fun, too. At least, the boys seem to think so...
Way to go, D! Milk those jellybeans as much as you can!
Peanut is sooo not potty trained. He used the potty maybe 2 or 3 times when we first got it....then nothing. He did ask to sit on it with "pants down" this weekend, but nothing happened. Sigh.
Not to rain on your parade--really because that's great--but our son did great peeing with the jelly candies but they affected the poopal aspect. Something about the gelatin or something--but holy diarrhea! We went with skittles and M&Ms. Good luck!
No worries about competition on the potty training front from this here blogger. Rosie's peed in the potty maybe twice, at school, about 2 months ago. No progress since that point, except that she likes to stand inside the little portable potty. I'm hoping MAYBE when she's 3 she will get the idea.

Oh my gosh, the little man is so cute!! And growing up so fast! I teared up last month looking at Easter videos you had posted. So glad I can keep up with him/ya'll here in Leipzig via your blog. Think about you three lots. Miss you even more. SueBobb
