GOP and the City Comments

Corzine is involved in the same scandal he was 5 years ago. Donating money in exchange for endorsements. He is a douche bag.

Gravatar "Jim McGreevey" and "cub scout" in the same sentence? Faux pas!!!

Must . . . resist . . . temptation . . . for . . . wiseass . . . comment!

Gravatar Watch it.... PG-13 site.

Gravatar My truth is that I am a PG-13 American.

Gravatar Corzine isn't running against Forrester. He's running against Bush, and Forrester happens to be in the way.

Will that work? Well, Corzine's still ahead in the race as we head into the homestretch, and unless Forrester has a rabbit to pull out of his hat, it's going to be Corzine by 10 points.

Gravatar lawhawk - that is true, every Corzine ad includes at least 4 "Bush" references.

Gravatar Perhaps Forrester should point that out in an ad - it doesn't even have to be a negative one. Simply state:

Jon Corzine has been running lots of ads recently. Once in a while, they'll even mention my name, but that's only when they're not talking about President George Bush. That's a lot of advertising to talk about the President when you're running for Governor. Why is my opponent doing this? It's about my threat to the Trenton establishment that needs to be cleared of a culture of corruption (hey why not throw that term around where it really applies).

Here's what I intend to do: (list one or two things here)...

Better yet, have Mrs. Forrester appear in the ad (she's apparently Doug's best asset and better half).

Oh, and the NYT assessed the veracity of the Corzine ad and they thought it was accurate in terms of what scientists believe possible with embryonic stem cells. I'm not so sure about that and don't have the time to flesh that one out.

Gravatar I am a Republican, however, am a stem cell research advocate. Shouldn't be surprising, there are MANY of us out there. Couldn't vote for Bush in last election, can't vote for Forrester in this election. Forrester has a daughter who may benefit from this research one day, shame on him for missing the boat on this extremely important issue. I believe he will lose the election. The ad is an emotional one, but if you had someone in your family in his position (I have), you may understand the impact that is felt when funding is denied for research that holds hope for a cure.

Gravatar Forrester's view is that states should not have to fund this research. From what I have heard he supports stem cells as long as New Jersey does not have to foot the bill.

Gravatar And nowhere do we hear about the distinction between adult stem cells (which have provided treatment options already), and embryionic stem cells, (which have promise, but no tangible results thus far). But getting facts involved would get messy and screw with the 30 second ad spots.

Gravatar From NJMG:
Forrester has also attempted to make a personal connection to the politically divisive issue. During the campaign's biggest televised debate, he said supported stem cell research in part because of his 19-year-old daughter's traumatic brain injury and Hodgkin's disease.

"She's learning how to walk and talk again. These are precisely the kinds of injuries that can be addressed with stem cell research," Forrester said of Brianna.

A source close to the campaign who asked not to be identified said Forrester's daughter is likely to appear in television ads. The ad is not expected to mention stem cell research directly, the source said, but would dampen the Corzine attacks on her father.
