The article in question is written by a Cindy Williams, but not the one from Laverne and Shirley. The stupid cow who hates the military is Cindy Williams, a senior research fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Are we high paid? $30,000 after tax for a family of 5 plus a dog, when the man of the house has sworn his life if called for? I want an NFL player's salary and then maybe we'll be near the proper mark for his devotion...

I agree. I also agree if we don't like what "celebs" are making we need to quit "celebrating who they are". They act on TV, and play sports?..BFD. Let us continue to celebrate our real contributors to civilization. Drs. , scientists, teachers, Mothers, Fathers, Nurses, Soldiers, Policeman, Fireman....
We live in a country where people want to be Paris Hilton...that is just plain *#@*ing sick....... I need a Motrin for this headache that just came on......

This somes up the oxymoron of America. They all want there freedom but don't want to pay for it. Soldiers should be making more then the normal population.
I served eight years and am glad I did.I sure would have enjoyed earning a bigger pay check. When I think of all those damn cold nights on the east German border and the Czech border. I think we all earned it.
Peace
