Gravatar Wow. **hugs**... sorta like my nephew. He was back from Afganistan for less than 8 months( and he was told it would be a year or more back with his wife and child) and he was sent to Iraq.

Gravatar Ohh, that is sucky, the no warning thing I mean. It's horrid when you expect one thing and get another. You'll make it just fine and if ya need a bit of advice we're here for ya.

Gravatar Wow... I'm *almost* just as surprised as you. Luckily you do have 2 months to prepare both mentally and emotionally for it (and up your dose of Paxil?) LOL.

Maybe Clint will be able to hang out with my brother! LOL.

Gravatar Wow, I can't even imagine. You'll be in my prayers!

Gravatar (((((Hugs))))) You know how to get ahold of me if you need to talk!!

Gravatar Sorry to hear that they threw you a curve. I know it HAS to be hard handling three kids on your own.

Gravatar (((Katy))) Wow, that is a shock! will keep you all in our prayers.

you have all of us here for you girl!
Hugs

Gravatar What??? holy fucking shit batman is right!

{{{Hugs}}}

Gravatar Ohhhh Katy, big ((((HUGS))))) to you and your family.

On Sniper's last deployment, we had less than 2 months notice. I feel your pain.

Gravatar Katy, that should give you plenty of time to get your poop in a group. You will do great. You are organized.

Damn

Gravatar Wow, I soooo didn't expect that. We had less notice than that for my brother's deployment, so I completely understand the shock. Will he be in Baghdad? Green zone, maybe?

Gravatar This is my first visit to your blog - definitely not my last. Your blog gives off good vibes; I know you're tough enough to get through this, but I am hoping and praying that suddenly he and no one else will have to go.
Take care,
Frances

Gravatar I goofed my home page link - this is the right one.
Waving at you from NYC.
Frances

Gravatar YEah. Well, what can I say Katy. When people offer to help, take them at their word and call em on it. Ummm. Think about the extra money Clint will earn that you can use to pay off debt. Just trying to find something positive for you here. Good luck to you gel. Course, there's lots of us around to give you support. Same goes for Clint.

Gravatar Sorta new here. I have really enjoyed your blog. So sorry to hear about the bad news. Will keep you in my prayers. :-(

Gravatar wow...that is a big curve ball! How long is he going to have to be there? I would be a bit freaked out too!!!

Gravatar Wow what a shocker for you all. I will be thinking of you and your family. Be strong and tell your DH thank you for serving, I appreciate it.

Gravatar Sucks!!!! I'll be sending loving thought to you and all the others who are in this same situation. I wish I lived closer, I'd love to come and hang out.

Gravatar That's a helluva shocker! Do as Toni suggests and accept help when it offered!!! (((((hugs)))))

Gravatar Non-Deployable, there ain't no such word.
Katy, I'll keep you & yours in my prayers.

Gravatar Man...I'm so sorry to hear that. I know what you mean about being a planner although I could never begin to know what you are feeling about this experience you are about to enter.

Gravatar That totally stinks. But non-deployable? Yah, they told my nephew when he signed up for the National Guard he would never be deployed either. They told him National Guard would stay in the USA to serve. Yah right.

Gravatar Ahh, Katy -- I'm sorry you guys got blindsided this way. Like you said, I know that it will work out, but it's tough with short notice. Let it hang our here, kiddo - we'll help any way we can!

Gravatar katy, darling... you know there's a bunch of us that you can count on... a shoulder or a rant... sending good thoughts and prayers your way. you'll let us know if we can help...

Gravatar Wow Katy, I don't tune in for a while and huge things happen. I am so sorry for you. My husband was also in a non-deployable unit a couple years ago--that got stunning orders. someonw further up said "there is no such thing as non deployable," they were right!

I also understand where you are coming from on the lack of training. Up until my husband left, I never felt his unit had enough training. (And he is damn near retirement age now. ) You and your family and your husband are all in my thoughts and prayers girl!

Gravatar Surprising but not...no one and no unit is non-deployable these days.

Thinking of you and your family...
