Wow Jen!!! That is one sexy set of scores you got there! I need to shop some more then again when don't I need to shop I'm going to do that this weekend and hopefully I will be feeling much better by then!
I agree with you completely on the Rachel censorship. It is absurd!
We need a vacation like yesterday LOL!

Well said, Jennifer! You can please some of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people ALL of the time. There will always be someone who doesn't like what someone says or do. *sigh*
I need to get busy, too! I still need a pair of shoes for Reno and a sweater/jacket for my new dress!
Hugs! Laurie

Rumblings from DeafRead? More like THUNDER! The thinly disguised (and sometimes none at all) distaste for oral deaf and cochlear implanted adults and children left me so bitter I couldn't stay in that environment. HearingExchange is a place to offer accurate information, share experiences and foster unity. DeafRead fosters nothing, it's just an aggregator ruled by "Human Editors" at whim. Their disregard for CART accommodations at their conference is more evidence of their unwillingness to let us join their deaf club, I mean community.

I'm sorry your CT scan didn't show anything out of the norm.....I know you were hoping to see something that could be 'fixed' or adjusted. My thoughts and prayers are w/ you that the ear issue can be figured out SOON
I just hate all the strife and controversy that exists regarding cochlear implants. It's such amazing technology that has truly changed our family's life. I know, to many, I'm a horrible parent for choosing to implant three of our kids, but I can live with that
Hang in there and have a great time at your conference -

UGH, you are absolutely right. You know, I would continue to say it was an arbitrary, capricious decision, but the more I think about it, the more inevitable it was. Real nice turn of events -- really opens my eyes to how inviting the old deaf guard really are to the younger generation of deaf. I didn't always agree with many of Rachel's commenters who take a hard-line AVT approach, but hers is a very important voice in the deaf world and the site is a great place for dialogue and debate and information, not just for those of us with CIs or little ones with CIs, but all deaf. It's a thoughtless, stupid move.
I wish Paula would start an aggregator !

You go, girl.
I've been hearing about this "boot camp" from DeafRead via Google Alerts. That's too bad. I never bothered joining DeafRead because I guess I felt too "oral." I have nothing against them. I can sign, but I am not very fluent in ASL, just signed English.
Will be back soon. Still doing internal construction to the blog.
Take care and "kick it up" (with boots?-wink) at the HLAA convention.
Oh, still no word on the approval. An appeal was sent to the insurance company last week. That's all I know for now.
