Or the person where you first check in and check your luggage?  (It's been over 10 years since I've flown so I don't even know procedures anymore!)<br><br>I think I would like to see a sign at all 'stations' telling me to let them know I'm hearing impaired/deaf.  Then at least they know who needs extra help as far as communicating goes.<br><br>Notepads would help to communicate with people that don't lip read.<br><br>Seriously, a flashing light or something would help at the gate, to let people know it's time to board.  I'm not sure they could set something like that up -- even a big sign that people could see would help.<br><br>The usual -- speak at a normal, NOT FAST, pace, don't over-exaggerate your lip movements, etc. If the airport personnel know sign language, do not assume all deaf/HOH people know sign language too. When you have someone's attention, complete the communication or transaction before turning away from them. Even hearing people can miss what is being said if you turn around while you are talking. Maintain eye contact as much as possible and don't cover your mouth with your hand.
