Not sure a federal elected official can be recalled, but it's worth a look. Feinstein can be counted on to side with the GOP on any issue that is truly of concern to progressives (BK bill, Clinton impeachment, and this latest travesty). She plans to do the same straddling til she sails into the sunset at the end of her term.

I hate to say it, but as California Senators go, at least George Murphy could sing and dance, and Hayakawa was at least an intellectual.

Gravatar Feinstein is my senator, too -- although I live in Sacramento. I, too, wrote her an email. But I wasn't as nice as you. Frankly, she doesn't CARE if you plan to support someone else in a primary 5 years from now. I told her I would work hard to do a Gray Davis on her -- that is, remove her from office. Isn't breaking the constitution enough reason?

Gravatar Feinstein and Schumer get their marching orders from AIPAC and AIPAC is controlled by the far right wing of Israel. Emmanuel, Feinstein, Leiberman, Schumer, and Harman represent right wing Israeli interests and are subverting the Democratic Party and are voting for and authoring bills that are selling out America to totalitarianism. These people are traitors and should be recalled by their electorates.

Gravatar The problem with DiFi is that registering your disfavor with her war profiteering and her constant support of Bush is that this will be her final term. She's ensconced through 2012, then she'll retire, so a recall is the only alternative.

Gravatar Stephen, I sent the same kind of letter yesterday. I told her I would actively support non-incumbent Dems, I'm sick of the spinelessness.

08 is critical; we are on a slippery slope to fascism and time is of the essence. DiFi has turned into the Dem version of Arlen "Say one thing vote another" Specter.

Gravatar It was done to a California Governor - now it's time to recall Feinstein.

We deserve a Senator who is more concerned about the country and her constituents than about her hubby's defense contractor businesss deals

Gravatar I e-mailed Ms. Feinstein the day before the vote protesting and begging he not to vote for American torture.

She e-mailed me back that she was assuring me she was looking out for my interest and that this would safeguard us.

I can not vote for this woman for Senator. She is now part of the problem.

Gravatar When I saw Feinstein following Bush around in San Diego like a little puppy dog waiting for a pat on the head from him, I knew exactly how she was going to vote. She was truly pathetic. I have never felt as abandoned by the Democrats as I do now and I feel that this election has already been decided for Guiliani. Hillary doesn't stand a chance and it's time we looked at Dodd who is one that I could give my vote to. Why is he being ignored??

Gravatar After far too many comment wars in LG&M and other "responsible" left-wing blogs I'd gotten real quiet about having voted for Nader in 2000. The funny thing is, I never considered it all that great an idea anyway. It's just that at 42 (in 2000) I was so sick of the Democratic Party being so god damned spineless I felt I had to do something to register my disgust.
Only to be hammered away at by every good leftist out there.
This is the alternative?
As much as I hate the philosophy of today's Republican Party, I greatly admire the way they play the game. They kicked Clinton's ass for 8 years over a trivial land deal in Arkansas and a blow job.
If only the Democrats would ever show such resolve I could actually vote for them (which I do 99 percent of the time anyway) with a clear conscience. And just think of this - they could tie Bush up over actual constitutional problems - not investments gone bad and oral sex.
