Gonna have to get more wax: there's a plenitude of turds waiting to be buffed...
I will vote for the Democratic Candidate in November. I was hoping there might be one.

MJS:
Glad for the comment. I, too, am unhappy with Obama's position on this and several other issues.
That said, there are some who, contra Kleiman, will critique every utterance of Obama's while blessing every move of Hillary's.
But I don't want to fight that war again, all I want to do is elect a Democrat to the Big House. Damn near any D will do, and of the last 2 standing, either of them is and was far preferable to anyone with an R after their name.
That's the point. Let's criticize him all day long, let's also praise him when he gets it right. And let's elect him. The choice, O vs. McC, is no choice at all. It's some hope vs. total disaster.

The utter unwillingness to allow Obama any latitude in framing his positions on issues so that they are more palatable to independent voters...
Pray, who are these independent voters who demand that their 4th amendment right to be protected from warrantless searches and seizures be weakened? Obama leaves a turd on the floor of the Senate and Democrats start giving each other free advice about how to buff it? "Palatable to independent voters?" wtf?
I don't need hope. I need someone who will fight for the civil gains made over the past 230 years, gains that gave "We the People" rights that make the Villagers clutch their pearls and swig too fast their apple martinis.
If Hillary had done what Obama has done, Kleiman (no disrespect) would have shat his brains all over his computer screen.

Good post Steve and oh so accurate. We need to realize that this is politics and what is said on the campaign trail can be taken with a grain of salt more or less. What is of ultimate importance is that we get the GOP out of the way so there is at least some chance we can change the direction we are heading. It may not be perfect but a third Bush term is the worst possible thing that could happen.
