True, this movie is geared largely towards Star Wars fans, as opposed to casual movie goers, which you appear to be. Most Star Wars fans had seen the Clone Wars mini-series prior to seeing Episode III, so were a bit more familiar with General Grievous. I actually found the performances of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen to be quite good in not only this movie, but throughout their appearances in the respective prequels. I'm puzzled as to why you were let down by Vader's "birth scene". Cheers!
