So far, I'm with you and I vote for Gracie.
It certainly made a big difference after washing and drying the swatches!
I may have to order some flax yarn in the not-to-distant future.
Have fun and I hope Sunny is feeling better.

I'm currently knitting with some 8/2 tencel that feels a little stiff on the needles too. But I've made a large doily with the same yarn before, so I know it does much better after washing and blocking too.
I have a cone of that same Louet linen yarn in my stash. You're making me anxious to pull it out and work with it!

I certainly give my vote to Gracie. I've looked at that one too. I've never worked with linen, but everyone I know who has reports good results. I'll be following your progress. I sure like the idea of machine washing and drying!

Oh ye of little faith! I told you to worry not, machine washed and dried linen is a thing of beauty and a joy forever! You saw my Shaped Triangle, remember? Linen actually gets even better every time it's washed!
I believe I used a US#4 with mine and I could only be happy with my Aero (Inox) teflon grays to tame that wild beast!
Your swatches are lovely Maguerite!
Hope Sunny's feeling better!

Linen is pretty sproingy to knit, isn't it?
I love it for lace bookmarks, though. When you get it wet and block it, it comes out so nice! I have a couple of cones of a thread-weight linen I've been playing with.

Oh I like all 3 swatches! I don't know how you'll ever decide.
