No yard - no rake. Solves the problem for me.
I've brushed both dogs outside every evening for the past 3 days - all the fur magically disappears by my late-rising time. I'm sure it's keeping some birds warm in a nest in the nearby woods.

Well, who would've thunk that you'd have to assemble your own rake. Did it at least come with instructions? : ) Our spring is a little ahead of yours, but spring usually comes pretty early here. Over on the mainland there are daffodil and tulip farm with acres and acres of flowers. It's beautiful!

Nope, I am with you! A rake with a screw attached-that beats all. We have your Spring, by the way. We are way beyond daffodills here in SC. My Juneberry bushes are still blooming but everything else is done. Just beautiful green leaves :~)

Don't you just wonder how Mourning Doves ever manage to hatch eggs and raise babies with such flimsy nest building? You would think they would be willing to put in just a bit more work on the nest, but I guess they think it is fine with just a few sticks.
I agree on the rake. I'd gladly pay more for better quality. I don't like having to buy a new rake every season.

No, you aren't alone in the rake thing. I'd much rather be able to get exactly what I want, when I want it and pay slightly more for it than fight with cheap stuff. (For hard to find, old-time stuff, try Lehman's Hardware here in OH and online. They have EVERYTHING)
Any chance you can point out the Mourning Dove nest? Is it really that pitiful stick or two under the bird?
I won't tell you about my daffs in bloom or my fading crocus....
