Stitches of Violet

Gravatar Just think, some day the girls will compare notes on Grandma's hands: all the times they were there to hold, soothe away the boo-boos and KNIT SOCKS (among other things.). I know my girls live for summer vacations at Grandma's for her hands among other things like hugs, stories and giggles.

Glad you made it safely.

Gravatar Your post was awesome! You sound like a very happy, much loved Grandma! With pictures like that they'll always love their Grandma's hands!
Enjoy that little one.

Gravatar How beautiful! You've got me all teary! Enjoy the time with the grandbabe.

Gravatar What beautiful pictues! Some of my favorite pictures are of my husband's hands with my newborn son's and then his in turn with his daughter's. Hope you are having a great time in Idaho - well, we KNOW you are!

Gravatar What a wonderful picture you paint of your family. I think your grandchildren, and your children are very lucky. To have your children 2000 miles away but in the same country sounds incredible to me. My daughter lives 60 miles away from me and I think it is a major journey to go and see her, well it is 4hrs door to door by public transport! Enjoy your time with them all and have a good holiday.

Gravatar OK Marguerite, this wins for tearjerker post of the month! Have a wonderful time in Idaho!

Gravatar My mom was there for the birth of my first child. We hadn't planned it, it just worked out for the best. I'm so happy and thankful that she got to be there. I wish she had been able to be there for the other two births, but one was late at night and she was miles away and the other one...she was busy caring for the already-born babies back at home! You are a lucky grandma that you got to be there. I'm sure your daughter has that as one of her best memories.

Gravatar What a wonderful story and the photos are so special. Wish I had one granddaughter, but I guess my *three* grandsons (the last one is on the way, not here yet) will have to do!
(((hugs)))

Gravatar How lovely! It is such a blessing to be a the birth of a grandchild.

I have a picture of my granddaughter's hands next to mine while she sleeps on my lap and I knit. It's a favorite of mine
