You have the best bird pictures of any blog I've visited. I have never seen a Rose-breasted Grosbeaks before. I'd get mighty excited if I did!

Always enjoy your bird pictures!! I have a white robin, this is the second year she has nested in my yard. She doesn't seem to lack suitors, and sucessfully raised a brood last yr. She has whitened considereably since last yr and is a joy to have around!!
P.S. Always appreciate your knitting too, I've made your old shale socks for gifts!!

Great photos! Every now and then we have one or two Rose-breasted Grosbeaks pass through but they must go north to see you.(LOL) I usually don't see them except during migration.

Great bird pictures! We had a pair at our feeders a few years ago - both male and female. The past few years I see only the female at the feeder. I don't know where he is! I laughed at your description of "a sparrow on steroids" because that is exactly how I described the Mrs. to the Audubon when I was trying to find out what I was seeing!

I love the rose-breasted grosbeak - and we are headed to Vermont on Saturday so I might get to see some. We don't really get them down here. Really nice clear shots you got there.

I just wanted to tell you how much I like your bird photos. I have the same cammera and have been taking pictures of birds too. In San Diego seeing a Rose Breasted Grosbeak is very uncommon. We did have an immature here that someone got to see. Keep on blogging and knitting.
