Ahhh,
To see His Holiness ordain men to the priesthood in the Traditional Rite will bring tears to these weary eyes.
Let us pray this happens soon.
God bless His Holiness.

Every Seminarian should pray and study as if he will be Pope someday...this gift is to every Catholic man to discern the Priesthood and responsibility of every Catholic Seminarian/Priest to prepare to be called.

In the second photo, the Holy Father looks very much like a dark haired version of my nephew (who also attends TLM). I can't help but wonder if my little nephew will one day emulate Pope Benedict XVI (by taking holy orders I mean, not necessarily by becoming the Pope).

Good gravy - what a baby face on that one! He looks so very young, evern to be ordained yet.
You can see that spark though. It was always there!

simple sinner,
You have to remember that back in the day most priests were ordained at 24 or 25 years of age.... very young!

I cannot thank you enough. These photos are a treasure.
Pope Benedict IS the Divine Intervention.
That is perfectly clear to me.

Father G I realize that... Being 31 25 year olds aren't supposed to look that young to me unless I am getting...

What delightful pictures. But this wouldn't be the NLM without a pedantic rubrical query, so here it is: interesting to see the priest at the altar end of the sedilia rather than in between his ministers. Is this a German custom?

Ben,
this is not a special German custom, but due to the fact that there is a presbyter assistens, who sits to the right of the celebrant. A presbyter assistens is normally only allowed for pontifical Masses, but also (I am not sure whether according to custom or whether there is in fact a special rubric) to the new priest for his First Mass.

Thankyou Shawn. When I see these pictures, I know now there was divine intervention with the election of Benedict XVI. The right pope, at the right time! Deo Gratias, Tom
