Does the 1962 Mass require servers kiss objects before giving them to the Priest?

Strictly, yes--although the practice had been dropped in many places (see Fortescue-O'Connell). The Celebrant's hand, however, should not be kissed by altar servers, but only by the Deacon and Subdeacon (Callewaert gives a good explanation of this, which O'Connell cites.)

I believe if the server be a cleric, then yes, he should kiss the hand of the priest.

As a beautiful gesture of reverence, I'm wondering why the Altar Servers don't do it as well?? It appears that it is designated only for the Deacon and Sub-Deacon. I'm wondering why...
