Herein lies the rub for me. I understand trying to be "in the center" when it comes to these matters, but it requires the acceptance of the New Mass as legitimate outgrowth from a traditional framework. That does not appear to have been the intent of the "reformers" who crafted the New Rite, and you don't have to be a "conspiracy nut" to see what was written and spoken by the reformers.
I am not speaking about validity, but I am finding difficulty in seeing the New Mass as an extension of the traditional Catholic faith, when the intent was to make a clear break with anything that would offend Protestants.
