What's the proper way to sing the Sanctus? I thought that the custom of "splitting" the Benedictus from the Sanctus had been suppressed by 1962. The FAQ states that it is still to be "split" when singing a choral Sanctus, as opposed to a chant setting. Can someone clarify?

The Instruction of SRC of 3 Sept 1958 teaches that a polyphonic Sanctus is to be split. The 1962 Missal did not contradict that.
