When I was at St. Peter's this summer, I saw the tomb of Pius XII, and felt a sudden urge to burst into tears and beg his forgiveness for the lies that we have spread about him. Of course, great man that he was, he never would have sought recognition or congratulation for his efforts to save the Jews; all the same, he deserves to be venerated in the same way that Oskar Schindler is.
