Gee, after a link was posted on Youtube, where some sick cops were posting lies about how Tasers are perfectly safe, we suddenly get the same kind of sick comments here. People are being killed, children are being Tasered and this guys find the whole thing funny. What sick bastards.

its simple really, cops should be treated the same when they use their taser as they should when they use their gun. Sure its a better solution but only in situations that require it (when they are truly being threatened) not to get somebody to "stand up" or "sit down" or "stop raising their voice"....what happened to handcuffs and the back seat of a cruiser? Apperently 50,000 volts is the precurser to handcuffs these days...standard procedure no doubt.

This article is ridiculous, "Since 1999 to 2005 there were 167 deaths attributed to the "non-deadly" weapon." So what, in 6 years out of Billions of people 167 were accidentally killed, and their example on "Andrew Athetis" is a perfect example. This guy starts acting crazy (or "high") assaults a woman and they taser him and he dies (another likely indicator he was probably on drugs). Does the fact that he died after assaulting someone mean it's because of the Taser, it was just as likely if they had attacked them. Fact of the matter is tasers, pepper spray, battons, etc are to "TRY" not to kill someone who is resisting a police officer while at the same time protecting the officer while he trys to do his job. And it is as simple as this do what the officer asks and you won't get hurt. How hard is it to give the officer your name when he asks or sign your ticket or .... If you break the law or refuse to cooperate with the cops then you are just picking a fight. You show me one time that an officer tasered someone who cooperated and was obeying the law and I'll eat crow. I'm not a fan of cops either (I think most of them are have authority issues), but they risk their lives to protect people. It's that easy obey the law and cooperate to help them protect.

Mr Duh Anonymous: Let me start out with the most obvious fallacy in your remark. Yes, there were 167 deaths (more since then) from using tasers. But that is NOT out of billions of people. The number of people tasered is far, far, far, far smaller. It is absurd to compare the death rate to the whole planet. You only compare it to the total number of people tasered with these weapons. And, that 167 deaths results proves they are not "non-deadly" at all.
