I'm a Richardson guy, myself -- as a 'classic liberal' what makes yuo like him?
I agree that Hillary is awful and Obama isn't much better. Edwards is a total snake and a con-man. If I had to pick one of the three I'd pick Obama, but I really hope it doesn't come to that.
I think Hillary and Obama both are going to suffer from the Dean effect; that is, they're so high-profile, so early, that while they may get pretty good primary support just based on media coverage, they also have much more attention on them when they finally make whatever idiot move they're bound to make to remind people that their platforms are either hollow or generally bad ideas.
Richardson is only really a worthwhile candidate on foreign policy and Iraq, in my eyes. His basic gist is that he'd like to withdraw from Iraq and put the funds at use there to work in further socializing health care, fighting illegal immigration, and the like. If Democrats continue to control Congress, which looks likely, then he'd be a rather powerful domestic president. Probably too powerful. Personally, I'm a fan of divided government.
I agree with Gravel. I think it is a public health concern. It should be dealt with accordingly. I think our country would be doing much better on spending the money elsewhere. I say improve schools, improve education, the list goes on.
