Gravatar I've always thought that handing money to any group of persons or government was a mistake.

If a people need help, go in and educate them, feed them and clothe them for awhile then give them guns and tell them to overthrow the oppressive government.

Help people to help themself. Don't give them handouts. I don't know for sure but I'd bet it is against the law for anyone but the government, the military and the police to own a firearm in Zimbabwe.

Gravatar It would not be that simple. Poverty is now rampant in Zim. The people couldn't afford firearms. Second the people are educated. Zimbabweans have always had access to education and it was the educated who were most attacked. You can't go in and feed them or clothe them. Private charities that tried had the police or military confiscate the food and turn it over to the government. That food is distributed at Mugabe campaign rallies or through ZanuPF offices. Private charity has been confiscated by the state.

You can't inform the public easily because the radio, TV stations and major press are in the hands of the state.

Mugabe changed the constitution to authorize confiscation of any privately owned firearm at will. And homes were searched with weapons confiscated. In 2005 private firearms were declared illegal and confiscated.

Gravatar Sounds like time for an assassination then.

Gravatar Assrot: It was time for that long ago. We shall see what happens. The people of Zimbabwe seem rather unified and determined to get rid of this insane monster. At this point I have to wonder if the police and the military are able to contain them and wouldn't be surprised if enough of them revolt if Mugabe tries to hold on for another term. If I were living in Zimbabwe right now I'd vote in the morning and cross the Limpopo or Zambezi for South Africa or Zambia for an extended vacation.
