Gravatar definitely disturbing ... one would like to see a similar treatment of the hardcore religious right in America, using the same Bible-excerpts (as well as a job on leftist socialist/humanist cant, altho the sources would be less obvious ;}) ... No reason to censor the piece in either case.

Gravatar It is hard to remain civilized in my words when this topic arises. Even with JJ Cale coming out of my speakers.

Islam is now, the most dangerous religion on earth. Christianity has a black history, but that's history (for Eurasia at least). Their backward religion is still very much alive, and it's not very socialistic of me, but by God we cannot allow such a barbaric cult like Islam take over our free world now can we? My sympathy for these people is non-existent.

Winamp just shuffled to Cranberries' Zombie, by the way.

Makes me think of how bad war is, and how evil and dumb people are. Deep inside I just want to destroy this evil with my hands, but what would that say of me?

It is cruel of me to think and say such things, but still not as cruel as their prophet (by a long shot).

Haha, now the Eagles are on, "Spirit in the sky." I don't know why I keep that song...

Gravatar Diederick: One aspect you need to consider is this. For the most Muslims in the US are not radicals. But Muslims in Europe tend to be far more radical. The difference is that the U.S. does not have a massive welfare state such as found in Europe. Why is that a factor? In the U.S. Muslim immigrants can't live off the State for decades on end, or for multiple generations. So they seek employment. The work process helps assimilation along. They learn English because they need it at work. They meet non-Muslims and learn about the culture in the process.

In Europe the Welfare State will insulate them from the wider culture for multiple generations. They don't need to find work, don't need to assimilate, don't need to experience the culture. The Welfare State isolates them and insulates them from the wider society around them.

But with nothing to do, with no sense of accomplishment, anger incubates. They look for something or someone to blame for their stagnant state. Socialists for centuries have taught people like this to blame the culture and the economy for their woes and this helps feeds the radical Islamist agenda. And it pushes the radicalization process. I don't believe it was the intention of the socialists and welfare statists to create this problem. But they certainly have done much to cause this situation to exist.

As for Islamist extremism in the Middle East the situation is not different. They are insulated from the wider world and they are non-productive. They live in poverty for the most party, relying on oil revenue, which itself creates problems.

Gravatar This is nuts. Quit thinking in such a white supremacist way by phrasing it as as a case of free speech vs freedom religion, and then making yourself sound superior and the other side inferior. What about Christian extremist that have committed genocide through imperialism and hegemony?

This issue is more about simply respecting another's wish. If for example, you hold something something very personal and sacred to you and ask me not to mock it, it is about respecting your wish and I do not lose freedom of speech or anything for that matter. It is simple common courtesy to be respectful which will likewise be reciprocated. But if you keep provoking, invading, imposing your ways on others, then it become abusive and they have to defend themselves because you won't stop. Just let them be and respect their ways - then maybe you can gain self-respect instead of vanity and pride.

Gravatar DH, have your logic checked. First I did not phrase this as freedom of speech versus freedom of religion simply because I don’t think the two conflict when properly understood. No conflict at all so no “versus” involved. And before you shoot off your mouth about “Christian extremists” and why don’t I talk about them perhaps you should actually read this blog.

It is rather stupid of you to accuse me of ignoring them when I have spent far more time racking them over the coals that I have the Islamist nutjobs. So instead of jumping to knee-jerk reactionary conclusions do your homework before making you silly accusations.

I assume the “white supremacist” remark was just thrown in for the fun of it since this site has actually tackled them as well. But I suspect you may be a Marxist and thus suffering from logic deficiency.

I have never asked anyone to not mock something personal that I hold sacred. First I don’t embrace the concept of sacred particularly well. Secondly I believe you have the right to mock anything you want whether I value it or not. I won’t cooperate you with when you do, I won’t subsidize it but I won’t try to stop you, threaten you, or beg you to stop. But what does asking people to stop have to do with the tactics of the Islamists? They blow people up and threaten to murder them. That isn’t asking and that is inviting score and ridicule which they deserve.

It is absurd to talk about reciprocity with a sect that demands supremacy and threatens to kill anyone who doesn’t obey. My position on how to deal with Islamism is clear. The US should stay out of the Middle East and stop provoking the situation there with military involvement and foreign aid (to anyone). But when assholes threaten to kill people for discussing their deadly beliefs then I say stand up to them -- that would include fundamentalist Christians, fundamentalist Jews, fundamentalist Hindus, etc.

I suggest you actually do research about the beliefs of this site before you start making accusations which are disproved with two minutes reading. It really makes you look clownish.

Gravatar The islamists are saying that Wilders is a racist, and therefore his arguments are invalid.

Let's say that Wilders is indeed a racist. Hey, for the sake of the argument, let's say that anybody criticizing Islam is a racist, including you and me . . . The question is, does that render the crimes depicted on the film inexistent? Does at least justify them?

Of course not. They cannot hide behind the supposed prejudices of their critics while they justify torture and murder.

Gravatar When anyone speaks out against Islam they are shot down by the word "Racist". The same happens when speaking about any race other than whites. I guess we are all evil and deserve to die out as a people. We are dying as a people. We are the only race that is in steep decline. Europe is virtually lost to us. Is self preservation racist?

Gravatar Mr psuedo Locke: Islam is not a race anymore than Catholic is a race or Baptist. Being antiIslam is to oppose a religion just as being antiChristian is to oppose a religion. Race is not involved. But it clear you are obsessed with race. I bet you consider yourself a racialist fighting to preserve the white race -- sounds as if you do. And your support for Barr is perfect (as per your other comment) because it does Barr more harm than good.
