oooh, at least the order is different! this is another of mine. totally, insanely good. this better not be their last. christina's voice on 'joy shapes' is just... yeah. and, IMO, the bardo pond collaboration is just as good. just got the latest christina carter cd-r and it's pretty damn good, too. it's been a good year for the carters.
There is also a handmade CD that I think was an 04 release, a split between Scorces and Tom you've probably heard, Beats for the Beast. Had to get the Charalambides up there first...it's an album I can't really describe musicwise, so I just said how it makes me feel. It's like a life-cycle in sound. I'm happy to see that Kranky just issued Tom's first solo cd, Monument. My CD-R copy still sounds pristene...
The Bardo Pond/tom carter disk is also def a real contender, but then so are many things I've heard. Great records are stacking up (it's a great year for punk folk), and there's so much I've still not heard yet! like that new Glenn Jones solo cd, and a lot of stuff reviewed in your pages. LOOK OUT PITCHFORK. I'm gonna catch up on music writing this weekend, shall keep in touch.
P.S. Mats whispered to me about an upcoming collaborative release that I eagerly await.
i need to get that glenn jones solo disc, too. and i'd forgot about the tom/scorces split. jeez. what a year. i just wrote a review for christina's latest cd-r which is excellent, too. she pulls off the 30-minute solo, acoustic gtr (with some vocals) thing pretty damn well.
i am eagerly awaiting the collaborative release with mats too! 
one of the next foxglove cdrs will be something i think you'll be excited about, too. it'll be out within the month and is by one of your favorite artists.
