UPA is a neglected album, it seems to have completely slipped through the cracks. I think instrumental music (the general whole of it, not just the Olsson album) is often overlooked or written off for it's lack of a singer, that vehicle of identification. While there has been a glut of boring indie instrumental rockers, people like Olsson and (especially) Daniel Padden seem to communicate more intensity of emotion and intelligence than a 500 person chorus harmonizing on some phrase or another.
Just wanted to express that.

Yes, Daniel Padden is really amazing too. I guess Owl at Fives was a 2004 release too. My copy says 2003.
And yeah I forgot Tower Recordings are still a new york band. I think of them as more dispersed these days.

yeah that did not surprise me at all. It was like roving through some aged english acid head's most obscure acid folk collection. I'm sure the former David Tibet could do about as good.
