Ha! Glad to see some response to the review. Surprisingly, the pitchfork review that came out a few days before mine was posted was shockingly similar. I was sure they were going to love it.
Anyway, thanks for the shout out! The Weird Weeds are playing with Christina Carter on Tuesday if you can make the trek down again.
Thanks again!
Nick

As far as I know I've never heard the Trail of the Dead band, so I can't say anything for or against them, but using comparisons to composers who were 'nazi sympathizers' seems a bit lazy and dishonest to me.
Is that band even very popular? The only times I have ever heard OF them were when people were making fun of their name!

If the piece sounds like Carmina Burana, sobeit. The editorial bits about "nazi sympathizing" just made me chuckle. Don't take things so seriously. Given the militancy of the indie rock scene, it's apt. As for the popularity of AYWNUBTTOD, they were on Jimmy Kimmel recently, or Leno, and whoever praised their use of a second drummer as being "real rock n roll." If only they were the Fall.

Indeed, the Nazi jokes are just that: jokes. If you really want me to wax poetic about the parallels between rock n roll and fascism then I'll gladly oblige, but perhaps not in the comments of Lee's blog.

Is it only "abstract art" that is "shit?" I thought it was ALL art (anti-art included).
