Under no circumstances are Coldplay "our generation's Beatles". They're boring and there's no reason you should assume they are more important than any other piece of fluff on the radio right now.

Thanks for the encouragement, guys. Re the radio, I've sort of come full circle/reached a midlife crisis where I've come to embrace all the rinky dink pop metal fluff of my youth. I've been actively singing along to and enjoying hits by Def Leppard ("Rocket") and Motley Crue's "Girls, Girls, Girls" without malice. I mean really, is there not a finer TRUE RAWK MOMENT than in GGG when Vince Neil shouts, "Hey Tommy, check that out man?" Tommy replies in his gruff valleyspeak, "What Vince, Where?" Both then proceed to do the fox whistle in unison and invite a cpl hot groupies back to their room, only to be consumed in a hellblaze of fucking-a lead solo action. Sweet.
