Liminal Perspectives on Consensus Reality
This afternoon I just read Rick Perlstein's account of a young Roger Ailes's rise to prominence by lecturing candidate Richard Nixon on the primacy of image prior to an appearance on the Mike Douglas Show. In modern America this is perhaps unavoidable. But different variables are involved this time. Anecdotally, we know that black executives come under greater scrutiny than whites. And none would be more closely examined and held to a higher standard than a President Obama.
As president of Faux News, Ailes is the mastermind behind attack puppet Bill O'Lielly and his incessant, niggling assaults on every conceivable or contrived nuance of Baraka's race. I have really, really grown to loathe those despicable, lying rat bastards.
Did the "compassionate conservatism" branding disturbed you just as well?
This is not Barack Obama problem - this is the American population problem. They are the ones that vote for American Idol, use the Web as a consumer product (FaceBook,MySpace), and run to the show to see SpiderMan! They are the ones that scram for iPhones on July 11th.
Barack Obama camp knows the American public are a bunch of brand chasing lemmings who have been programmed well. He just reaching out to them through the channels these lemmings subscribe to.
My entire point with this post Ed, was to call into question the decidedly proprietary nature of the brand's policy formulation and articulation.
That thurr is a weakness IMOHO.

Hence the reason why I don't expexct Obama to come pusue telecoms as part of this whole domestic spying scandal. They could destroy him for such impertinence.
I know some tough sons of seabiscuits who could empower him to go after telecomms with absolute impunity. But then, he'd have to open source some of those plum federal appointments and properly empower federal law enforcement after it's been eviscerated by yahoo and ding-a-ling patronage over the past 8 years....,
