Please oh please tell me what you think

Gravatar Most kids are into My Space instead of blogging.

*****Yeah - something tells me the organizer of this event didn't check his marketing reports. I mentioned this to him and he thought maybe it would be better to do something geared toward college students.

I'd still better get my blankety-blank honorarium check.

glad to see you're visiting...

Gravatar I'm not sure I understand the question.
I'm hetero too but I really don't give it a thought. To the best of my knowledge most people are hetero so I guess the majority of people don't feel any need to point it out.

If on the other hand someone is a homosexual then I guess they want to talk about it. They feel discriminated against I guess. Like Blacks, Mexicans, Natives etc..

*****I think you're right. I guess what I don't understand is the pressure from people like Perez Hilton to others who are quiet about their preferences. I would think that sometimes people are shoved in the spotlight when they don't necessarily want to be, and they want to keep their preferences private. Not necessarily closeted, but definitely not spread over the pages of some tabloid.

Gravatar I think there is a point when a individual's preference is their own business, and should be private. Though in your previous blog, if the behaviour has negative effects on a unsuspecting family, it should definitly be brought out for that families knowledge.

*****Also a good point. I think you're a first time visitor, correct? Thank you so much for coming and for responding.

Gravatar Myspace does blogs too...

As for the outing, I wish it was up to the people coming out as to when they'd like to, but celebs aren't allowed private lives. We know if they're pregnant, gay, getting married, getting divorced, having a bday, EVERYTHING.

This is why I'm glad I'm not famous. (And of course I'm not condoning the "lancing," it's those damn papparazzi!)

*****I've seen Myspace blogs; one of my blogroll folks has a blog there.

I'm glad I'm not famous either...I think I'd probably be one of the most boring celebrites on the planet - on a par with Fred McMurray from "My Three Sons" and "Flubber".

Gravatar I've got a friend who's 22, gay, but still can't bring himself to tell his parents, thinking they'll be miserable. So instead, he's miserable...

I agree - I don't see how personal preferences as the sole definition of who you are. And if people aren't hurting anyone, discretion should be ok. Being kept in a closet, not so..

.. on a side note, the former Norwegian minister of finance was "discreetly" gay for most of his life, but being offered such a post he thought it right to come out in public. So he did, and married his boyfriend (of the last 25 years or so), and became a minister. I can't remember there being any controversy about it, actually. But then, he didn't have a wife who found out, or an escort to reveal anything..

Thanks for visiting my blog You might enjoy this. And I'll be back..

*****Thank you for coming over too! Have a good day, and a great weekend.

Gravatar No question about it! Let the individual decide, rather than the public.

I can't think of any worse violation than to have something so private be broadcast to the world without your consent.

Well, I guess there ARE worse violations, but still. That one is a biggie.

*****I agree, and I guess it's hard to see the dividing line where "Public good" ends and "violation" begins. Very sad sad stuff.

I'm so glad you came by, and hope you'll come again!
