Please oh please tell me what you think

uh, yes i can imagine your own torn feelings and the ire of a flood victim watching coverage of tim russert. he's dead the flood survivors aren't....

I like your blog and hope all goes well in the floods for your friends & family.

Gravatar I watch the news obsessively now, because the road that Batman takes to work, the road that runs in front of my house is also the highway that will flood, and they are saying by Monday afternoon it will be under water. After driving home tonight I wonder if it will take that long.

I missed the flood of 93 only because I was pregnant and not allowed anywhere near the flood waters. This time it's personal. I see houses abandoned and sandbagged. I see National Guardsmen standing watch making sure they know who is where. I see people with shovels filling sandbags in hope of saving a town.

Tonight I saw National Guardsmen standing watch, and in the distance the smoke from a fire, and for a split second it look like a war zone. And then it hit me, it truly is. A war against nature. And in a sense we are, at war, with a river, and nature.

You can't control nature.
