I'm not sure if this is what you're getting at but I hate it when the band is playing at full volume through dinner. It just makes sense to turn it down a notch while folks are eating and pump it up once the full on, after dinner party begins.

*****Well, the thing is, the band wasn't playing at dinner...it was a small combo, and we were already playing softly. We also had to play over a roaring industrial a/c unit, which was frustrating.

Sounds like it was full of old people. I have never been to a social gathering with people complaining about the noise level....only complaint you might have heard was that the beer tap was too slow.
