Hi, Your comments are always most welcome

Gravatar Hi Sue & Vic.

That is where our friends live. We are going to see them from March in August.

Their house is only 1/2 mile from the lock.

The wind generators. Kinda neat and not commercially expensive. I will make one (or maybe 2 )later in the year.

Kevin

Gravatar P.S. See you are using Water Explorer.

Gravatar Hi sue,
Rob here, the one who missed you a few weeks ago while in Ely. Have been reading of your woes, 'not good' i think is the best way i can put it.
Swine having the fuel stolen but even worse is the none to polite emails recived, however you have a lot of support on that front.
Alas i will not see you even as you are heading up towards st neots, I have now left for foreign shores again to play with my slightly larger craft.
We shall maybe catch up some day, anyhow I will send you a few photos of my craft which when sailing i will hope be 'No Problem'. We shall be heading of to sea for a month in a few weeks compleating all the vessel trials.

Gravatar Kevin and Rob,

Kevin,

Re the wind gens.. Well I have spoken to James who suggested I get one, and he is also looking into the ones that the boats have in Weymouth/Poole Harbour and talking to a few people about them. I suppose there comes a time when it will work out cost wise better.. I will have to do some sums.

I think making one yourself is brilliant.. I worry though about the noise, I know some of them really do sound out in the wind..

Yes, well spotted, I have been running the software each day and it seems to work on their website updating every 10 mins or so. I need to learn more about it yet to see how I can use it to the best end result..

Rob,

I will look forward to those pics.. sounds like you have a big sea boat.. it would take me quite a while to get used to that, I get awful seasick you know!

Sue

Gravatar Sue, yes she is a little larger at 280 odd meters long, I will send a mail to your email with a couple i took of the sister vessels last year.

Gravatar It seems as if everyone has gone this direction this summer! You're the 3rd blog I've seen on or around the Ouse!

Great reading as ever and trust you have a super, (and dry!) summer. I look forward to catching up when I get back in 6 weeks time!
Andy

Gravatar Dear Sue and Vic,

Boy between the Post Office and the GOBA person it sounds like you are having more than your share of petty buearocrats. Sorry you are having these inconveniencs but I'm glad that the transmission is back in No Problem.

Noticed a bumper sticker down at the grocery store yesterday. It read "My border collie is smarter than your honor student. Got a good laugh thinking of Meg and Lucy.

Hope you are well,

Mark

Gravatar it is great to see and read that you are still keeping the dream alive travelling the canals. have read with interest of your travelsso far as we, as a group of 4 couples, will be leaving australia soon to fullfill our dream of travelling the Llangollen canal. keep the stories coming. however, you can certainly do without some of the drama you and vic have experienced during recent times.
we are curently sitting in our caravan some 500km's from home enjoying a break away. lots to do here including reading, fishing and generalling just socialising. would love to send you some photo's of how we go caravaning in australia. caravans are a little different to those that we have seen in uk as are the caravan parks.
keep the stories coming.
regards, Phil Scott

Gravatar Rob, Andy, Mark and Phil,

Rob,

Many thanks for the pics and good luck, hopefully see you on your return to this country..

Andy,

Your own blog is a great read too!.. Enjoy your hols Andy, at least you won't come back to a sunken boat!!

Mark,

Yep we are both well thanks Mark, and hope you and Sharlene are also fit and well.

Yes we have had a bit of a rough run, but hopefully now we will have our share of good fortune.. need to sun out a bit more though and the wind to stop, it's been windy now for a good couple of weeks blowing from the south and therefore in our faces when on the move.

I love the bumper sticker.. I must admit, they are very intelligent mutts border collies are.. Take care

Phil,

Hello, and thanks for your comment. I am glad you are enjoying the blog.. we may well cruise the Llangolen again during the winter months if the regular winter maintenance lock closures do not stop us from doing that.

A friend of mine, Paul Balmer, once said to me.. "Sue you always enjoy a canal better the 2nd time you visit".. I thnk he might be right!

I am sure you will enjoy very much when you cruise it yourself.

Sounds like you are having a real relaxing time over there in Aussie land.. enjoy

Sue

Gravatar Sounds like having a great time. Shame about the Post Office.

Gravatar Dave, Many thanks for your comment, yes we enjoy it over here in the fens during the summer months. There are very few boats about, and we tend to meet the same boats and crew from time to time and get to know them better.

The Post Office often gives me grief. I just wish they would train their personell properly

Sue
