Hi again Sue, Vic & Lucy.
It was fantastic meeting you all at Ellesmere today! Your hospitality is only outdone by your excellent blogging skills. The visit made our holiday complete. Enjoy the rest of the Llangollen canal, the scenery is spectacular, especially if the weather stays good.
All the very best -- Dennis & Linda (The Winnipeg connection) & Sandra.

Hi Sue
Have you tried typing in Chrome platers into Google.
Here's one not far off the Rochdale Canal in Manchester, bit far from you at the moment.

Just had another thought, try contacting classic car specialist / restorers in the area.
One of them should know someone who could help.
Heres a link to some via 'UpMyStreet'
Good luck

Hi Sue & Vic,
I could silver or even gold plate your lamp !! Would be one very expensive piece glittering away on the cut.
I can reccomend Butterworths , although they are the other end of the country from you. It might be worth giving them a call they may know of another company that can help.
Best Regards
Alex

Hi Sue, Vic and Lucy,
It is great to read your stories about meeting your blog readers along the cut. I hope that next year we'll be able to meet you when we are traveling with our grand daughters.
We're off to another doll show on Thursday. This time in Denver, Colorado. This will be the last one for 2007 because as you pointed out the Christmas season will be upon us shortly. We sent two Mimzy rabbits to little girls in London and Oxford. They both sent back pictures and invitations to visit during our trip next year. So I think a very nice trip is beginning to shape up. Now we need to decide between mid June or late September because of the girls school schedule.
Will try to write from Denver.
Happy sailing and best wishes,
Mark

Dennis and Linda,
Great to meet you both.. hope you will continue to enjoy the blog..
Roger,
Many thanks for the links, yes we will find one in a minute.. seem to be too busy at the moment to arrange something.. all this retirement stuff is very tiring, I never seem to have time to do anything!!
Alex,
Wow gold plated would be just fine!!.. thanks for the tip off, for sure I will do something about it soon.. I have to, it won't be that long till I will need a good light for Blisworth and Braunston tunnels!
Sandra,
Glad you enjoyed your short trip.. I am sure you will be spending time on the waterways in the future, and if you start blogging send me the link..
Mark,
You sure are busy.. well here's hoping we will bump into you next year, I sure hope so. Well if you can do mid June, then that is the best time to come over.. our schools are not out, and the waterways are not too crowded, plus the spring changes to summer and the weather should be a dream..

Greetings from The Pas, Manitoba, Canage...Just reading through your Blog and noticed pictures of Dennis and Linda. They are friends of ours and it was nice to see that they caught up with you. We did the 4 Counties Ring this summer with 3 other couples (in one of those rentals that you sometimes comment on). We loved every moment of it and enjoy reading about your adventures on the canal. Hopefully we will get there again some time to do another section of canals....

Hi Doug,
Yep your friends are lovely people, and we were just as proud to meet them as they were to meet us.
It was so nice for us to meet people that read the blog, and always special when they are from overseas. It is amazing how the internet can unite countries and people together.
I am delighted that you enjoyed our waterways Doug, maybe next time we might meet your family..
