Sue, for ebay think about using autionsniper.com. It doesn't cost to much and you only pay when you win. It automatically bids for you a few seconds before the end of the bid

Oh but it did cure the problem Chas! Of course, just the one didn't have much effect, but two did the job just fine... and a good nights sleep put me right in the morning... stiffness gone! Very pleasant anaesthetic it was too!

Brian, thanks a lot! I have had a look at that... great stuff. I actually managed to purchase the same item on a buy-it-now at a better price than I was prepared to bid for ... so I am chuffed today. One for the future though... means I don't have to sit up till the early hours waiting for an auction to finish. Gawd knows why people plan their auctions to finish at 2 or 3 in the morning! Still I will sleep well now if that ever happens again....
