Well if it makes you feel any better Sue winter started in Weymouth on the 22nd August this year. First time this year since Easter that I have needed my padded jacket at work in the morning, plus I felt that cold damp feeling in the air and as if I needed confirmation the trees have started to turn too. I agree its a very nice area you are in.

Hi sue,
Thursday 8th Sept at 23:30 on Radio 4 was a program about people on the canal systems. Cant remember what it was called and it may feature on the listen again site of the bbc... I will see if I can download it. I nearly hit the radio - one of the chaps interviewed claimed that everyone who didn't have a home mooring was avoiding paying licenses and insurance and the like..... He needs a good ramming I think.

James.. Seems to me that winter always starts first in Weymouth!! Maybe you ought to go back to your roots and enjoy a longer summer? xx
Ron, thanks for that information.. I'll get a Post Office address sorted for next week for you to send it to me on CD thanks xx

Our's son's boat is called 'Bankside' - much to his disgust! He hopes to change it.
Actually, we had thought that it would be some time before you realised that you had left your keys (the next lock) and didn't want to leave them in case anyone came and pinched them so had decided to moor up on the landing stage and wait for you to get back. You did rather take us by suprise appearing out of the undergrowth - we were watching the other direction! More than happy to be of help, especially as us picking your brains had put you off. We wish we had read your site before we went down the Nene!
Boat now delivered safely to Hartford marina in Huntingdon - sadly. Makes us want one of our own!

Kath,
Glad to know you arrived safely.. we will certainly pop in and say Hi when we are there next year. Yes it was fun chatting, there are not that many boats to meet on the Nene!
Many thanks again for rescuing the keys
