I read that you have a GPS. Do you Geocache? www.geocaching.com or www.geocacheuk.com I've seen a lot of caches showing up along the canals recently.

Well I was finally able to read the article about the Ashby Canal in this month's Canal Boat. It describes a beautiful rural canal, with no locks, a couple of museums, a deep history with the coal industry, and 20 pubs located in the villages along the canal. Sounds just delightful. No wonder you selected this place for your winter cruise.

Only twice I have I visited this canal before, first time was in the seventies and the other time was about 7 years ago, and the only bit I remembered was the garage at Hinckley, and even that has changed with a new marina close by. This end of the canal is delightful, we shall stay a while
