Hello Sue
The sun was shining on the Great Ouse at the weekend. We saw a pair of swans with 3 very fluffy cygnets on Sunday.
Talking of diesel, we paid 50.5p for diesel from Ivor at Easter! We paid 50p at The fish and duck (where we moor)at the weekend, and someone said they paid 48p at Ely last week, so not as expensive as the canals yet.
Have a good trip down the Nene when you get moving. They have electrified some more of those awful 'wheel' locks but there are still plenty left to build up the arm muscles.

"I was very surprised to see the price of his diesel at 55p a litre. Scarey really to see such a high price."
I guess now you'd be saying "remember when..."

Ken,
For sure you are right!!
Gosh, diesel prices have gone through the roof, but then so has gas and electric for landlubbers..
I hate to think what price it will be at the end of the year.. maybe as much as £1.50 a litre?

Hiya Sue
I should have mentioned that we ( Bev & I ) were day boat tourists from Australia back in Nov.2007, compliments of a mate of mine from Northampton. We only travelled from Stoke Bruerne to just beyond Bridge 35 near Bugbrooke ( and back ). Thanks to your blog we re-lived what was the highlight of our trip to the UK.
