Sorry to hear about Lucy, hope she recovers well soon. I was in England last week, Bognor Regis, visiting my dad in hospital.
I see there is a geocache near you at Aldwincle. GCMBP6.
The river Nene looks like a beautiful area to explore.

I hope your dad is OK. I haven't been to Bognor for ages. My parents used to take me to Butlins in Bognor on a couple of sundays each month.. that was some many years ago when it was "good morning campers" regime, with the knobbly knees competitions and all!!
Yes I noticed the one at Aldwincle Jane, but with having to run around chasing vets for Lucy it isn't gonna be easy to get that one. We might do that on the way back in the Autumn...
