Hi, Your comments are always most welcome

Read your comments on diesel pices with interest. Up on the Trent and Mersey around Middlewich diesel is retailing around 48-50 pence per litre. Still up on last year but not as high as you are paying.
Love your blog makes me very envious, still only 4 years and 11 months till retirement!!!

So pleased to catch up with you again - we have beeen away in our caravan for a week in Norfolk. Went to Crick for the second time but spent all morning in a traffic jam because of the fire.
Interested in your choice of loo!! This is causing us a great deal of debate! We think we are going for a casette as we are used to this on our caravan but a bit undecided.
The house goes up for sale next month - it is all very exciting but I will be working a couple of days a week for a year or two, so we may have to be in a mooring for short periods.
Keep "blogging" - you keep me motivated!
Lovely to hear of Lucy's recovery. Our dog went for a swim in the Broads this week!! Decided he would play with a very large dog that went in the deep water!!!

Glad to see that you enjoyed Tony's visit, and it sounds like you are traveling a nice part of the river. I was amazed by the picture of the peacock. Was it wild and just sitting loose in the tree? Thanks for all your updates. They are great fun to read.
Have a great day,
Mark

Hey Jamas (yes I will phone soon - bit busy at the moment), you may have a point there. Although it does depend on the rubber seals in your fuel pump/injectors... there is a good web site about it somewhere, I will see if I can find it.
They (HMG) can't expect you to pay road duty on your fuel, so unlike a car conversion a boat should have no excise issues.
Perhaps there is a market for large scale waste veg oil to diesil conversons on the canals....

Andy,
That is a good price for diesel. Anything around the 50p mark has to be good. It makes me laugh actually about this EU subsidy that keeps our 'pink' stuff at a low rate.. I can't really see why we should make the effort to fight to keep that.. by the time we have finished writing to our Euro MP's etc the prices are going to be the same as normal diesel at this rate!!.. Hey is not long before you retire.. then you will enjoy
Hello Win,..
Yes for sure I would go for a cassette loo if given the choice again. It does mean that we are not tied to 'having to' go and empty a tank. Just make sure you have enough cassettes and places to store them. We have 4 in total, and that has always been ample. You will still enjoy 'boating' although you are working for a while.. I bet you will be more relaxed at work too!.. Ha, dogs will be dogs.. sheeesh!
Hi Mark,
Yes the peacock was just loose and wildish.. I was taking a pic of the one up a tree when the vicar of the church appeared.. "Wonderful birds" I commented "You can take them with you" he retorted!... they do make quite a noise, maybe they disturb his sermon on a a Sunday Mark! However, the following day they were spotted in the local farmyard, so they do move about a bit.
James and Ron,
Yes I would love to fill the fuel tank with 'chip fat'. In fact we can actually do that.. we do need to have an enterprising person on the waterways to start to sell bio diesel.. but it does cost to set one up. Seems most boaters are happy to pay whatever for their boating as far as I can tell, so I guess that is why prices are rising on the waterways. Anyway there is no competition in some places, like the River Nene, just a couple of pumps.. "It's not me putting up the prices, blame the oil companies" he said as we filled up the other day.. ho-hum, just smile I thought..
