Hi, Your comments are always most welcome

Gravatar Hi Sue and Vic,

Your comments about Mary Queen of Scotts were read with great interest. Last weekend we watched the series "Elizabeth" on the TV and the beheading of Mary was depicted in a most gruesome fashion. Glad to hear you are having a leisurely cruise down the Nene. Hope that Lucy continues to heal nicely, and that your good weather continues.

Best wishes,

Mark

Gravatar Mark, I think it was quite gruesome too. It was amazing to be moored no more than 100 yards from where it happened.. sitting on the front of No Problem it is easy to just let the mind wander back all those years and hear the sounds and feel the atmosphere of the time..

Gravatar Your descriptions are making me want to go back and explore the Nene properly.
We were delivering our son's boat 'Bankside' to Hartford marina last September and went to the pub in the village in Fotheringay. I can highly recommend the bar food! It was a bit pricey but well worth every penny. We had the steak 'sandwich' - and chips made from potatoes grown in the village. Wonderful! It is the only pub I have been in that gives you starched white napkins with the cutlery! Not only that, when I asked for the bread (home made I believe) that we hadn't managed to eat, to be wrapped so I could take it back to the boat, she cut me some extra to go with it! Good beer too.
Kath

Gravatar Hello Kath,

Yes I walked by the pub the other day, and people were sitting out in the garden at the tables. It was very nicely laid out, and some people were just having coffee while others were having lunches. The food is said to be excellent. I love the Nene Kath, many people take just 5 days to 'do the Nene', last year we took 41 days, this year will be longer
