Hi, Your comments are always most welcome

Gravatar Yes, I also once put the stern of a boat on a sill, but like you was able to quickly close the paddles and refloat the boat. Very exciting, but also very anxious. Fortunately no damage. Hope you have a great weekend before your return to St. Neots. Good luck with Lucy next week.

Best wishes,

Mark

Gravatar Hi Sue
When you say filled tank at a decent 55p does this mean you have seen it higher recently. I have today filled up at 52p from mr Batchelor.
It was 54p further on at canal centre Hassal green on the Trent & Mersey.
Be safe

I so enjoy your blog and it's been lovely reading about your adventures over the past few weeks since we (me and my dad) moved back from Spain.

We can't wait to meet You,Vic and Lucy someday on our travels along the canals when we eventually get our boat, you're an inspiration for cc'ers

Speak soon

Keith
P.S. Good luck to Lucy on her next op and let's hope she gets 100% better

Gravatar Mark, It is quite scarey to have the backend on the sill.. there is nothing you can do low down in the lock, just relying on the crews on land to do the right thing quickly.

Unfortunately many people have not been so fortunate.. not only losing their boats to the bottom of the lock, but crew members also.

Yes there have been some deaths with this type of accident, one in particular where they couldnt get disabled people off the narrowboat before she sunk

Les,

Yes it is varing a lot over here, we found much the same last year. I noted the Marina at St Neots was asking 60p ltr last week, and Ely charged us 53p a month ago.. I do try to phone ahead to see the best prices, but I don't have much choice at the moment, having to 'tread water' as the saying goes until the end of August when Lucy gets sorted.

Don't much like that green stuff in the pics on your blog!!

Keith,

Many thanks for your comments, keeps me writing my blog reading how people enjoy reading it!

Many, many thanks for your good wishes for Lucy, we are all hoping for a better solution for her...

Sue
