It is good news to hear that Lucy is home. Hopefully she will be up and around a little more during the next few days.
Yes, you have to subscribe to the canal magazines in the US. They are not available at the news stand. I think that this month's recipe in Canal Boat is a minestrone soup. It's really good but takes a bit of cutting and chopping to put it together.
We live on the coast in northern California and this is the long Labor Day weekend so we are flooded with tourists. Just got the grocery shopping done and it was stop and go all the way into town. Tomorrow I take Sharlene to the doctor for the check up, and will let you know how everything goes. Thanks again for all of your good wishes.
Have a great day,
Mark

Have watched your site for many months now and am responding to Lucy's situation : you have done the right thing by Lucy at every turn, do not doubt your actions - I perceive you are doubting your judgements past - you should not do so - " I feel awful" ??? You could not have done more or devoted more resources in her direction. Good luck to her, and her sympathetic owners, Neil.

Had a chat with Sue this evening. I was just having a stroll along the river and recognised the name from this blog. They still in St Neots. She came out to say hello, which was nice. The dog looked bright and alert, so clearly on the mend. NB Balmaha, a place I have walked through several times on The West Highland Way, was moored opposite.
Lucky people.

Mark M,
Thanks Mark .. Hey, hey me doing table top dancing!! Sheeeeeeeeesh the very thought of it!.. Errrrrrr not that I haven't done a bit of that in the past mind.. of course, 'all those years ago'!
Lucy has been flushing out the rabbits this evening.. looks like things are beginning to get back to normal!
Mark A,
Sounds like you are a bit of a chef Mark.. My Vic can put his hand to a bit of cooking as well. In fact it is quite hard sometimes to shove him out the kitchen so I can do some cooking! I do hope all went well for Sharlene, no doubt we will hear soon.
Neil,
Thankyou for your confidence boost.. I needed that and was heartened by your comment. Yes I was doubting myself in as much as whether I had done the right thing or not, but like you say, really there was no choice but to have this second major op.. but she is improving so rapidly, it's unbelievable the difference between last night and tonight! Thanks Neil
Pete..
Hey hey, how nice to see your comment. It was nice to meet you too.. we did move over to the other bank laster and met up with Mo and Vanessa as you can read on the blog. Maybe next time we meet you will have a boat moored to the pontoon!
