Love the synchronised swimming picture of the 2 diving ducks, nicely observed and executed.
Enjoy your blog and the quality of the photographs, hope you get going again soon,

Hi Sue and Vic,
Great to hear that the batteries are back and that the engine may be all set by tomorrow. Hopefully this will be the end of your overheating problems for a long time.
Loved the description of Lucy getting the golf balls. 34 is quite a collection! Seems as if she is getting around quite well following her surgery.
We are heading down to Monterey on Saturday to an antique doll auction and then over to Las Vegas on Monday for the Modern Doll Convention. Sharlene isn't 100% following her surgery but she wants to go and I think the change of scenery will be good for both of us. So starting Saturday we'll be away for a week.
Best wishes to you both,
Mark

Hi Sue,
glad to hear things are progressing with Lucy - I guess she will walk on her leg when she feels like it.
ROFL about the golf ballwhich had just been hit... nice one... golf is a good way to spoil a walk in the countryside if you ask me.
7 Batteries is a lot - I am just wondering if the council man twigged that you had car batteries rather than D cells or the like
Hope the engine work is finished soon and you can head down to the K&A for the winter... Caen seems like a good place to meet if things work out, mind you Dundas is good as well - not least because I can take the girls into Bath before we visit with you.

Hi Keith and Dave
Well you must be busy today, and what a lovely day it is too, bright sunshine here in Ely, and hey, they just started our engine again as I write!!!
We will be heading north to Peterborough then south to Northampton, Braunston, Oxford and finally Newbury..
Enjoy your day today, and good luck for tomorrow..
Neil,
Glad you enjoyed the pic, I enjoyed watching them, pity the camera doesn't show all the splashing of their web feet.. such a giggle.. engine is started now, so wont be long till we are on our way..
Mark,
Thanks for the good wishes, looks like we will be on our way soon. Hey I hope you have a good trip to Monterey next week, and really pleased to see Sharlene is well enough to make the trip, no doubt a lot of tlc while you are there will enable her to enjoy the week.. Have fun you both..
Ron,
Yep looking forward to seeing you again and the girls.. The man from the council does know they are car batteries, but does not know how many!!

It was good to finally meet up with all of you on Saturday and to put real people to names.
It looks like your engine and battery problems are on the mend and you can continue with your winter plans. I think there must be a jinx on the Ely to Newbury route! If the weather holds and stays sunny you will have a lovely journey.
Good luck and best wishes
Gail
PS Tell Vic he makes a smashing cup of tea !

At Last!!!
Get that engine running and head off north, we've crossed the channel (Denver - Salters) and reached March already - innit.
Then its just a few hours of yawning as we cross the prairie and Fenland fun will all be just a big dream.
Hope we bump into you again before we head off to the arctic and you to the sunny south.
Big Hi to Chas and Anne.

Gail,
It was lovely to meet you too on Saturday and your sprightly dad! Thanks for the good wishes for our trip to Newbury, which I know you will follow with interest!
I passed your comment on to Vic and he said "Well Gail, Being an X Builder I know how to make good cuppas"!
Mo and Vanessa,
We will be two days behind you.. we won't let you get away without cracking open a final bottle of wine before you head off to the artic and us to the costa del kennet!
Ballyhoohar? Well that makes it easier to remember!!
Watch your backs next week.. you never know who is creeping up on you!

Thanks Mary,
Yes Lucy is very happy at the moment and cant get enough walking.. trouble is Mary, I am certainly not as fit as I was when I was regularly walking, it is going to take me some time to get back in the swing of things!
