Hi
Have been watching your progress fo some time, we are moored at St Ives - a big plastic, live near wellingborough - interesting to see your comments on the waters we know so well - incidently the piling work at St Ives is for the flood protection - sadly not the IWA festival - do you have the GOBA forum comments e-mailed - a lot of scare talk about 100,s of canal boats descending on the ouse next year - would be interesting to know if you think it will be busy - and from some of your comments about the Ouse across to Peterbrough even possible - will keep watch.
All the best

Hi Sue, I have been catching up on reading your blog.It is certainly getting chillier! Thanks for your advice which helped us to decide on a 17" TV , bought online from Dabs.com. Brilliant information about your satellite set-up on your site, but am curious to know what sort of dish you use. Keep on blogging -we love to read it, Elsie

Joy and David, Yes I did hear recently that the work in St Ives was for flood defence rather than moorings.. I am not sure what to think about the influx of boats to the River Gt Ouse next year, to be honest I don't think it is going to work..
The bridge at Upwell on the Middle Levels is dreadfully low.. some narrowboats definitely won't get under that even if they strip everything off the roof, and EA are going to have to spend a lot of money around Denver to clear the silting.. remember the tides only allow an average of 9 boats a day through the tidal bit.. how many boats?? It doesn't really add up to working does it?
Elsie,
We have a kerston dish, but any mini dish will do and as I said on that page you can get one from ebay for a tenner. Good luck with it.. I really must update that page, its got a bit out of date with what channels are avaiblable..
