Wow! Amazing amount of water pouring over those gates. Not much of a water shortage evident on the Oxford then?
Love the blog.

John,
Seemingly not, and now we are at Cropredy I can see the River Cherwell from where we are moored and it sure is high! Someone here has already told us that the River Cherwell at Thrupp is in flood and is shut to navigation.. going on to say that they think the Thames might be shut to navigation too!
It's a good job I don't believe anything 'till I get there!!..
Remains to be seen, we will just keep going heading for Newbury 'till we get stopped for whatever reason..

Well, Sue, that was going some - as they say, but you did have a lovely day to do it.You seem to be making really good progress, lets hope the weather holds for you.It has been great re-living our Easter trip in reverse through your photos.
Our boat has been out for blacking and re-named 'Safina' - it is Swahili for boat. Hope to be out on her for the half-term holidays.
Happy travels.

32 lock miles in a day! Traveling like a hire boat. Since you had your engine repaired you have really been covering the canals. Great to read your interesting blogs as you travel the canals.
Received my 2007 calendar from Inland Waterways Association today. Last year their on line ordering did not accomodate shipments outside of Great Britain. It was a treat to be able to order this calander this year.
Well we are awash in dolls and are ready for the Christmas season. I've been keeping up with the packing and shipping without much problem so far. Am looking forward to things really picking up during the next few weeks.
Have a great weekend.
Best wishes,
Mark

Les,
Ha, well I don't like going this fast to be honest, but we have been held up over in the fens, and need to make up time to beat the winter lock closures. We need to be through Newbury by the first weekend in November..

Mark,
It isn't long till Christmas Mark, you must be getting busy already. I am making plans now for our visits to the family over Christmas, we will be going down twice, once for the "Works Christmas Do" and a second time for Christmas itself.. Don't work too hard!
