Hi, Your comments are always most welcome

Hi Sue

I've been reading your blog for a while - and at the moment you're about as near to me as you're going to get!

Anyway, I see that you mentioned going into Newbury to stock up on Friday, well Market Day is Thursday and Saturday, and there's a good butcher who does some good deals, so it might be worth waiting until Saturday if that fits your plans (assuming you don't read this today!)

Enjoy your trip west.

Paul

Hi Sue,

surely with a Pike, it is not so much you catching it as it catching you!!!

Glad to see you are making progress still....

Hmmm - if you are a CC and get stuck because of BW locking gates they didn't say they were going to, do they give you an exemption for the distance travelled per week qualification for CC status or do they claim you have now become a non CC (if you see what I mean)

Gravatar I expect you have noticed all the caches along the K&A but just in case I'll post the link to this one which has links to some of the others

When we hired a boat from Reading Marine in 2002 there were only a few caches along the way. Our best one was above the White Horse

Gravatar Paul,

Thanks for that, actually I read somewhere that the market has only just started up again in Newbury, Is that right? I was there last Saturday.. and saw the market, but had no time to browse as we needed to clear the town.. bonfire night that was...

I have planned to go tomorrow, so will miss the market this time, but will remember that when we pass back through or if I take a trip on the train later.. Thanks Paul..

Ron.. Quite right there.. I have only ever caught one pike.. Vic dealt with it!!

Your theory on CCers is interesting if not confussing.. but mind you they whole CCer thing is confussing.. apparently BW were not interested in telling the people between the closed lock and the padlocked lock that they had to move... maybe too much hassle for them?

Jane,

Thanks Jane, as you can see we have been doing some caches since arriving on this canal.. it is nice to have time now to go out there and play! Many thanks for the links, I hope others take a look at those to see what we have been doing..

Oooo I am looking forward to finding the one at Alton Barnes, that is near Honey Street, I like the pub there too
