We are heading that way in a couple of weeks - so it appears from blogs etc that most of the boating world is as well.
Remember if you are every passing thru Leicester again give me a shout.
We are thinking of moving from Crick to the River Soar - just checking out moorings at the mo - the boys (and me) have fallen in love with kayaking on the river.

Hi Maggie,
Well I must say it is very quiet on the cut around this area, I suppose people shun the heavy locks a bit. For sure I wouldn't want this to be one of my main routes, the bottom gates are very heavy.
We are turning right at Norton, but maybe back through Leicester in the Autumn, not sure yet.
I'll watchout for kayaks when I come back through then!! 
I wouldn't mind having a go at that on the rivers... ho hum, shall I add it to my wish list?
