Gravatar Hello Sue & Vic.

Here is a little video of Salters Lode to Upwell I did in April.

http://bigglesw.blip.tv/#921744

It might take a we while to load. It was on 19th Aprils and bitter Easterly was blowing, and as you can see it only took a moment of inattention to go off course. It was later discovered that my rudder had no balance on it making it even harder to steer. I did 9 hours in the tiller that day. I was cold tired and ached from having to put in so much starboard rudder all day.

Gravatar No need to spend loads of dosh to get infromation from the EA, they have an 0845 number. I've attached the info from the web page below.

Cheers,

Simon.

River users are also able to telephone
the Agency's Floodline Information
Service to hear a recorded message
which will inform users whether Strong
Stream Advice is on or off. To do
this complete the following steps:

1. Call Floodline, the number is - 0845 9881188 - You will be welcomed to Floodline and offered different touch tone options

2. Choose option '1' by dialling '1' on your phone to 'listen to pre-recorded information for flood warnings currently in force'

3. Then simply enter one of the following quick dial SSA numbers:

* River Nene 032112
* River Great Ouse 033211
* River Ancholme 031212

BTW R RU going to stop at Ely next week?

Gravatar Paul, Kevin and Simon..

Paul, Can you check those pics again and tell me which ones.. they seem fine to me, so something must be wrong.

Kevin,

Many thanks for the video, I will download it when I have a better connection.. Yes Ely for sure next week.. probably Wednesday..

Simon,

Yes thanks for that.. I do know about that number.. it is for the FLOOD line , not the boats STRONG STREAM ADVICE which is what I wanted.. the flood line shows tells of no flood warnings, a far cry from strong stream, that's what my toot was about..

Sue

Gravatar I'm wondering if the missing things might be smilies or something like that instead of pictures. They follow each of the following bits of text:

from a normal land line!!
raging at that tonight…
must be a real regular!!
this part of the Levels..
over the top though!
Remember??

Paul

Gravatar Sue,

Check the third item of the instructions I posted, after you've heard the (no-)flood warning, you can enter a code and get the SSA for the Nene, Ouse, or Ancholme. It does work, I've used it.

Simon.

Gravatar Paul Balmer and Simon.....
