Not sure about what speed you are setting off down the Nene at but don't forget Northampton IWA Boat Rally over the Mayday bank holiday weekend. We may even get Jannock there this year as we are currently heading North towards it!

Wendie and Graham,
Wendie,
Always a pleasure to have you all aboard, even if I do have to remove all my furniture and furnishings to hose out No Problem after the dogs wreck the place!
Can't wait for the next time now.. Glad something got recycled, thanks for that
Graham,
Yes I noticed there was a boat gathering, but we won't be around, probably be Thrapston ish by that date.
We try to steer clear of boat rallys though tending to like quieter retreats.. Hope you enjoy the summer Graham, I follow your blog each time you post one.

Hi Sue
With regard to the recycling. There were bins up to about a year ago at various places along the Southern Grand Union. When they disappeared I asked of BW the reason why and why replacement recycling centres hadn't been established. Their answer was that the existing colectors didn't have the appropriate EU certification and therefore had to be stopped. I was however assured that national recycling centres would be set up by BW probably before the end of last year. Of course we are still waiting! But there are new centres at Sutton Stop and Great Haywood. So it seems BW's "Green" credentials are again a little slow at getting off the ground.

Graham, EU, EU, EU.. for goodness sake.. was only oil drums and the guy collected it for free!.. So BW wanted to charge him £500 a year to put his bins there.. where I wonder is the connection to EU in a charge of £500!
BW should not be slow at getting 'green'. Think about all the cans of beer that sit on the back of holiday boaters boats!
There is a recycling 'bin' in the road just outside the Napton BW yard to leave your mixture of bits and bobs by the way. I don't know who collects that, but it is collected and off the property of BW.. hopefully people will try to use it if only to make a point.
