Sue,
I have dealings with the Post Office through work and your experience doesn't surprise me. Sub-postmasters are, of course, not Post Office employees but independent traders and some of them seem to be in a permanent state of disagreement with the Post Office over what they should and shouldn't do. Its one reason why we are stopping using them to market our product - as have TV Licensing and a number of other public bodies. A clash of cultures methinks!

Hi Sue
Im one of those lucky people who run a sub post office and yes we do get things wrong and get hauled over the coals for it.but and there is allways a but. It is one of the very few public services where you can get hold of the person in charge.even if he or she is having a bad day they are in the job because they care about there local area and this year there will be 2500 fewer offices for you to claim your free service from.

Jim, The Post Office seem to be loosing a lot of corporates at the moment, but then again they are not informing their sub postmasters of their responsibilities either. There are so many closing at the moment too, or moving it is hard to keep up with what is going on for all of us

Rod,
Yes I understand what you are saying, but it is very few Post Offices that I might have a problem, most people are very helpful when I have phoned with a problem, just in this case it was more than his jobsworth to offer any help at all.
